Glossary

Board Certified Surgeon -
A physician who has completed an accredited residency training program and has passed an extensive oral and written examination in his field of expertise.


Botox -
A nonsurgical procedure with Botox injected into the skin to reduce muscle wrinkling. The results typically appear within a couple of days and last three to six months. This is an ideal option for someone who wants to freshen-up for an upcoming event.


Blepharoplasty (eye job) -
Surgery to remove excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and/or lower eyelid area.


Endoscopic Brow Lift -
Minimal incision browlift using telescopes.


Facial Liposuction -
Process of removing fat deposits from areas around the face and neck.


Laser Resurfacing -
Using a laser to smooth the face and remove wrinkles. The laser tightens the skin and can often delay the need for a facelift.


Mid-facelift -
A minimal incision facelift procedure designed to soften the crease between the mouth and the chin, and lift the cheek region.


Oculoplastic Surgeon -
A surgeon specializing in performing cosmetic and reconstructive procedures around the eye area.


Rhytidectomy (facelift) -
Surgery to correct the aging neck and jawline area. Submental Lipectomy Removal and liposuction of a "double chin."
